Teachers: Help Your Students Become Writers

Picture
We use writing every day, whether we are preparing lesson plans, writing a paper for a class we are taking, sending an e-mail to a friend, or jotting notes on an idea we have for a project.  Even creating a grocery list requires executive planning and organizational skills.  We create student writers by first being writers ourselves, and then by sharing our love of writing with our students.

Here, you will find links, ideas, and tips for helping your students, in writing classes and in the content areas, to become more proficient, more engaged writers.

Here you will also find tips on how to find the inner writer within yourself.  After all, we can teach writing best if we, ourselves, are writers.

Leading by example is, by far, the best way to inspire students to be writers for life.
